Kindred Spirits

Walking a forest path where few feet have traveled
Sunlight dapples here and there through tall pines
The sounds of waking nature fill the ears with peace
Birds sing while baby birds cry to be fed

A rabbit hops across your path into foliage
Not stopping to see the smile light your face
Suddenly the path opens revealing a lake
Pristine its beauty on this spring morning

Beneath morning mist sounds of feeding fish echoes
Waking sounds vibrate off ancient mountains
Eagles soar aloft on air currents with wings spread
Squirrels chatter leaping from tree to tree

There he sits all alone among natures silence
She stands surveying the one her heart calls
He blends perfectly with the world surrounding him
In his arms they’re joined as kindred spirits
