Freedoms Elixir

I taste the air after a spring shower
Cupping my hands I drink before it’s lost
The earthy cleanness makes me breath deeper
Wetness from a few stray drops touch my face
The gathering puddles begin to steam
They will not last long in this desert wind
I smile watching tiny sparrows bathing
Soon they are joined by crows dipping their heads
Ruffling their feathers preening with joy
Racing across azure skies clouds gather
We may have more rain before the day’s done
I gaze with gratitude for precious life
Breathing deeper of ozone laden air
The scent of pine and flowers mixes well
With knowledge, wisdom and understanding
All blending to make Freedoms Elixir

Precious water. It is the elixir of gods (and humans), as you so proved the point in this beauty of a poem.

A pretty potent blend there.  I could us some of that  love the imagery, as always.

Michael.

I remember walking the deserts. Chilling temps in the evening, brilliant mornings, scathing afternoons, then

back into the cool.

Excellent work!

Delightful poem!
To see all the beauty that is around you makes
you rich indeed. To taste it, to smell it, to
hear it--that's what makes life grand.
More please Startime, give us more.
