It is our folly, and a great conceit
that we decide who we meet.
and who we take into our bed,
and who will eventually willingly wed.

Ah, but  reader, fate is not so kind
as to give who we have on mind.
For we are just the smallest cog,
but chance enters in a darkest fog,

We have hidden deep withing our breasts
mysteries kept from the conscience mind.
And here they live as silent guests,
praying on our royal behind.

So we run to someone in a flash
with whom our values do greatly clash.
And we have not one red clue,
as to what provides the glue.

We are pulled into that sticky web
where love dominates our silly head.
And we are simply, uncontrollably lost,
helpless no matter what the cost.

Here we suffer at love's cruel hands
and there is no escape.
We struggle against the enveloping bands,
but must except our fate.

As the wise say, "The heart has reasons
the mind knows not of."

Stanza four is the reality when a decided fate is all that one can choose from. Enjoyed your thoughts.
