Weep not for me my child;
I have walked the world
when memories of it young
and wild still were open to be found,
sometimes pure and beautiful,
sometimes raw on bloodied ground.

That was then and this is now;
yearn not for times
beyond the how of spinning life's mandala;
you are too young to understand,
just as I've no frame of reference for your world
you have not the eyes to see through time to mine.

Yep, we all must, out of some perverse egotistical thinking fair to heed the advioce of their elders. We're . . . er . . . old fuddy-duddys. Nice write, Ice.

Ah, spoken like an elder speaking to it's wild, impetuous young...

well done, my friend.

insightful and even more pointed today as change bombards us at an incomprehensible rate...Your wise words have a graceful way about them.
