you could have been may or june or july
or zoeleen ambrosia, but names were just words
tossed by nonchalant hands through windows
of passing cars racing sundown to horizons

we carved little statues in the sand shadows
using our finger tip wisdom like music sounds
that we could strum between the game of grains
sorting second hand seconds into minute longs

then holding our breath between kiss flower blooms
that we lined up in rows one after another again
making sure we got each one more perfectly splendid
than what we remembered the previous to feel like

before mutual smiles suggested contented assimilation

Some names are more than words, and important enough that they are irreplaceable.  What you write is always so so.  And my replies always inadequate, for that.  The last of this reminded me of the Borg lol...resistance is futile, and all of that.  (nerd alert)

I feel like remaining silent after absorbing or assimilating your outstanding poem ... you give the impression of being a string instrument who plays contemporaneously all the available strings without creating chaos, but a harmony that goes beyond rational understanding. (... so much for my silence! )

Hey DS
Those cards are a great hand to play...smile..
Great write man. Lots of ambiguity to make fodder for imagination.

I experienced this once, "contented assimilation" I had just finished a whole tub of chocolate icecream!!
Oh, life can be good can't it?
