With petals falling
I count the hours, in
increments of tiny hands,
prism drops of tired clouds
and mountains made of dots
and dash, derivatives of
endless sands

in stark remind of tic
and tock, in love revived,
the promised storms to
quenching fields, now
drown as tributaries
in the river's greater plan

I count the hours
with petals falling

the chanting rain
the plight of man.

Emma, you are on a roll. You are writing damn good poetry, even brilliant poetry. This one with its pleasing sights and smells and word play took me on a ride with you and I finished with an understanding of the plight of man.
