Listening to every heart

Listening to the tilt

Spring fled before summer quickened
life is simmering way too soon…
harvest will fell the fields quickly, way
before the mid of June…

in traveling to, from the office of daily
I have way too much time
to listen to the wind and
those sorrowful voices on church radio
don’t really do me in, but I see
all the while the swelling of choices…

the farmers are in a dither, for rushing
is summer’s call and weights and smell
come into thought, for it’s all a drought
if timing isn’t quite right for the fell….

~*~

I cannot help but think in my
please don’t rush home mode
that ALL of the harvesting of the earth
has quite upset the commode

upon that which we still sit,
shedding our commonalities
and I think, “when, I wonder, will we
suit our wild normality?”

~*~

Think of it…we borrow earth from the earth,
and spread around its wealth; we harvest
stone and spread its bone, wondering why
the ground is spent.

We dig holes, suck them dry
gut but don’t refill them, though then we dig
new ones to hide the refuse that we
sincerely think will once again reside

In some other yard, but not our own…
will we never learn, no, we never learn….
we never, ever, yearn to learn….
we treat each new practice wrong.

Some say “you might learn from history”
I myself see through all of the
past and mystery
because it is so simply done, cursory…

And I remember the 60’s smog,
hidden in the climes of an off ocean’s fog
and can glean that some changes passed
to keep us all from being gassed,

but still, the shift of the world from
the weight of the world can come
and I see us all, tilting an axis, slightly,
that none will see the end, lightly.

Dear Sunshine,  this is why the LORD said for us to have faith and believe in Him.  All of what we see and don't see is His.  We have more than we can even imagine to look forward to.  Look up dear lady, look up.

(just remember to smile when you look up, we have unmanned drones overhead)...

Excellent work, dear Karilea!

I love your ponderings and relate. We are here in these difficult times and we have our responsabilities no doubt, but we also have the power to love this world into change.

Like the saying goes “Charity begins at home” individual contributions towards nature conservation is far vital than what many governments put together can do. Fine writing this, Sunshine!

No kidding.
Well written Sunshine Girl.
It's interesting that the Bible makes the statement
That God will eventually bring to ruin those ruining the earth.
Took insight and talent to write these verses but glad you did.

If we won't take care of Mother Earth, make no mistake, she will take care of herself.
Thank you for reminding us, Karilea.
