The knight in the shining armor is now gone,
I have changed my ways the way of looking at you,
Maybe I no longer hold the image of your prince,
Or the man you hope to spend the rest of your time with,
These lines must make you wonder, if I have given up already,

Nay, I am but ashamed of what I have now become,
Taking all you are made of for granted,
Not enjoying you, or loving you in the same manner,
Years ago, our love was pure ecstasy, now it has slithered down to responsibility,
This maybe a rough patch in our journey, so we say to bring some sense,
But I know that peace has forsaken my mind, and sadness has made its new home,
I seek no advice from outside myself, for people can try and relate but not understand completely,
Going to bed tonight with a sense of fear of not knowing what I truly want and following the rules,
The love that we once shared, has become a cliché on its own,
Breaking the normality in my thinking, I question the spoken words,
Revisiting the words I had penned years ago, realizing how far from them I have fallen,
Years later we look back and realize that all this was just a small part of life,
But will we be together years later? That is what I wonder tonight.

I speak insanity. I write fantasy. I sleep reality.

Dear Ronil, you say it and it is true that  many others can relate, but of course the circumstances are always different and the inner turmoil is lived differently too.

Your insecurity is very well rendered in this deeply melancholic write.

The future is yours to build and to believe in.

The emotional peaks and valleys of this piece are very well expressed.

This line is a classic and I can see it in a song...

"The love that we once shared, has become a cliché on its own,"

The restlessness of the pondering in this piece is simply well done!
