Rebirth

Clouds gather darkly over head
it is the storm I’m wishing for
Most people will look up with dread
and run inside to slam their door

I stretch out my arms to embrace
while breathing deeply the ozone
Powerful winds caress my face
as trees bend to the building moan

The magic wraps around me tight
lifting me out of human form
Flying through darkness feels so right
when my spirit joins with the storm

The brilliant lightning hits the ground
sending flaming sparks in my blood
Turning night to day all around
bringing with it a cleansing flood

Sudden thunder breaks the silence
swallowing my pure primal scream
Words that are filled with defiance
torn from within to the extreme

I fall exhausted to the earth
feeling my deepest soul is clean
Starting a new day with rebirth
as a person none have ever seen

I totally love this poem.
My body felt the energy, the electricity,
transforming my soul.
Big smiles,

Wow! A highly emotional trip through the majesty of a thunderstorm.

Superb passion in this write.

I just hope you don't get too close to those flashes of lightning.

Scientists have calculated that if they could harness the electrical energy in one flash of lightning they'd have enough power to supply New York City for 10 years.

The creator spreads a glorious majestic table doesn't he?

Good stuff Karen!!

Hey! Hey! You said you loved thunderstorms when you commented on my poem, "I'm Almost Certain I will Die," Karen, and you have proven it here. This is vibrant and exhilarating!

This is really powerful and I identify with your feelings.

Excellent write, dear Karen.
