I am always pushing time--
ahead
or left
on the curbside
and I don't own a watch
instead
I watch the sun in estimate
and no, I am not always late
it's just the "early" that I hate
trying to find some place to be
until someone finds time for me.
I bought coffee in a shop
the place was called "The Coffeestop"
and I was burned embarrassment
when this fine establishment
asked me to displace myself
because I didn't order well:

I ordered coffee--
read my book.
And I paid thrice
of coffee's worth
for a backless stool of seat--
and all of this was offered me
by the sign's advertisement.

I swear.
Sometimes?  I hate this world.

Well said is right!
I know what ya mean.
I hate it when you're just a cash register receipt. Table or stool # 5

Imagine a name like that, this is "The Coffeestop" but ya can't drink it here unless ya bring a dozen members of a beverage club or facsimile.....Then there'll be no lingering!! Drink up then get out!!

Me too, sometimes I just hate this world.

I don't hate the world, but I have moments when I hate a few of its inhabitants. Haha! Cheeky of you to bring your own coffee. If the establishment had been cool, they would have gone along with the joke and just charged you minimum coffee price for the pleasure of sitting in their very uncomfortable backless chairs.

I love the title,But understand the reasons they wanted you to leave. That ïs why I never go to a restaurant alone. One day I did stop by one and it was crowded. I saw one lady sitting alone and got the courage up to ask if I could share  her table. She said yes and although we had a lovely chat while eating lunch, and exchanged names and addresses,we never did meet again. But I shall always remember the day I decided to ask,"May I share your table" jo

It was a stool.

But you've halfway got me convinced to tell what transpired, after I went on the hunt to find a place that didn't mind me ordering coffee. (I mean, the sign said COFFE) It didn't say Brunch, it didn't say lunch--and it was 11 o in the morning...It wasn't like I was going to linger there until the rush.

I found a place to linger though. Free coffee, great service, and a fantastic view, too. *teaser*

Jo? I try to be good, I truly do. But let's just say "the best-laid plans..."

*giggle* Love you. (And btw? I ended up being good for business.) <--not my opinion, I was told so by the bartender.

Nice poem.
I'd give up my watch if I didn't have doctor appointments to keep, and grand kids to pick up from school.
The doctor made me give up coffee.
Keep writing and don't grow old, sure looks good from the outside, but it's a big mistake

Ahh, sweetie, I so relate to this, but there are ways...

you become a regular...regulars, they understand! Habitual regulars are welcomed...I know! I know because...

My eldest daughter gifted me a kindle two Christmases ago but before then, I took to work with me books, or magazines, because I was going to be in an area where I couldn't get home for a "quick" lunch, so I made do by going to lunch by myself, but I just cannot stare out a window. I need to engage, and my engagement is usually silent. OH, I DO NOTE the comers and goers and the folks that I've learned to know of during these last 15 months where I work now, but like in most offices of any confidential nature, I cannot issue the first "hello!"...especially not being an "outsider" to their world....

So I only take 30 minutes, give or take the size of the meal; but I read. And I enjoy. But since it IS 1/2 hour's time before the rush, I'm generally out before 11:55...and it's all right....

so be a regular drip in their life, and their Coffe will suit you in time....

That sucks!  I love our Starbucks up here, you can park there for hours on end, and use their wifi.  I think if anyone ever asked me to leave somewhere, and I had been a paying customer they may see the side of a Gemini they wished they never aroused.   I really should come down there, and you and I can stir up some fun.
