Song I wrote in 2003 about a soldier trapped in action in a foreign country and finds out through the grapevine he's lost his true love back home.
Sad I know, but happens....

Isolation Blue

In a distant world of darkness
far from the home town girl
in the midst of foreign oceans
there's a lonely soldier's world
where the pen of love stops talking
when a promise turns untrue
and far away there's isolation blue

Chorus:
Memoirs of pages filled with passion
tear stained letters in pockets full of truth
dreams inked on promise after action
a river of words in isolation blue

There's night skies lacking moonlight
when a lover loses face
and a soldier can get buried
in the dirt inside his veins
and the chapters of defeat
are written with ancient rules
and far away there's isolation blue.

There's a lover's fire an old desire
a distant fading flame
where wayward winds keep blowing
cross an icy memory lane
and the brightest leaves of Autumn
become colors of the truth
and far away there's isolation blue.

Memoirs of pages filled with passion
tear stained letters in pockets full of truth
dreams inked on promise after action
a river of words in isolation blue.

Words are true blue, Eric, song sounded great. The Dear John has probably be instrumental in more than a few self-inflicted deaths in the grim and sludge of an insane war.

Yep, you're right Jerry, it's a hard hard long distance love affair.
However, that's how it is so I thought I'd write about it.
