Mystical Moonlight

The sky is dark, starlit and clear
Wind caresses with gentle warmth
The full moon smiles down upon them
Waves lap against the sandy shore

The unseen world looks on with joy
Fairies dancing among tall grass
The mermaids frolic on the waves
Goddesses watch with pure pleasure

The sand is warm beneath their feet
While holding hands they stroll along
The silence means no need to speak
Joined heart and soul by love are they

The world for them does not exist
Sands twinkle within the starlight
The mystical moonlight enfolds
These lovers who are not alone

It is the full meaning of love when there is no conversation and they are not embarrassed by it. Nice write, Karen . . .

Reminded me of a dark fairy tail my mom told me (she was a wee bit sadistic) where faeries would stray children at night to dance with them and when the sun returned they were gone never to return.

Lovely poem.

Beautiful romantic poetry with such vivid images.
I can see and feel them there hand in hand.
