My Sacred Place
By Paul Wilson

I come here quiet often
too be alone with my thoughts of you
Seems like lately most of my time
is spent reliving all we use to do

Memories of you drift by on storm clouds
as the sky turns an ugly gray
Emptiness is all I feel in my heart
since you went away

Where have you gone my love
who will dry these tears I cry
Visions of you running thru my mind
I will love you till the day I die

This lonely road I travel each day
brings me to my sacred place
Memories of you comfort me
but you my love...they will never replace

Sand in the hour glass running out
tomorrow may find me out of time
I feel your presence as I visit
this sacred place of mine

Stay with me a while longer
let your presence bring me comfort
Give me hope for eternity
till we are together you and me

~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~
Paul

WOW!!! for fiction you can really touch the heart...don't say sorry for the tears...it is the sign of a great writer when he can bring forth such strong emotions with his words...well done.

I love it Paul!
The escape is survival from the hurt.
I think we all have a place like that for one reason or another.
Well done! I could feel the depth.

Paul so well you anticipate the possible ache in words that paint the picture too well. Thanks for this.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This is a fictional poem? Thats a lot of emotion for fiction - wonderfully done.
The image of a man sitting at his wife's grave came to mind, him sitting at his "sacred place" reading your words out loud.

-Trina
I'll keep these dreams hidden
inside these eyes of mine
until my tears fall
unto my tainted hear

s1nfully...Thank you so very much for taking time to read and reply. yes it is fictional for now, but someday it may becomr a reality. Maybe someday I will write again, but for now all I have is my memories of better days when my Muse would visit me. Thanks again...Paul

I read this when it was first posted Paul and it choked me up pretty bad.  To say I can relate might be the understatement of the year.  This is a pure pouring out of the heart, and of the soul, and I felt every word of it. That's what poetry is supposed to be, my friend.
