The lines deep within her leathered
worn skin and pained face, showed
sorrow so clearly defined.

Weathered hands, & straggly hair
swept across her face seemingly
without notice or care.

Upon her fragile frame, her papersack
dress held its place by a wornout
apron that looked like it never left
her side.

Where once a life with such promise
and hope, the kind one assumes when
one possesses beauty, and an exquisite
mind, mixed with a desire for life and all its
offerings, now seemingly crushed by life's cruel twist
of fate...

Yet still...

one cannot help but notice
the irony in her planting
so carefully this delicate seed
amidst the darkened weeds that
surround her, there is a hope
for rebirth and color again in
her otherwise gray world...

Yes indeed, dreamgal, where there is breath, there is hope, and where there is hope there is a vision to see that hope is made into reality.

Excellent write, dear dreamgal.

The older generations - like me - remember those aprons, that at the end of a long day were put away with a sigh ...

The spark of hope is never buried as deep as to make it difficult to unearth it again ... luckily!

Love,
Margherita
