the year is twelve,
the month is four,
the date is unknown,
the hour is past one,
the feeling the mood,
is lonely is lost,
is partly glad
partly sad.

why?

i struggle for an answer
in this dark cave of mine,

while music whispers in my ears,
a screen glows brightly in my face,

my phalanges go clickety-clack,
on a black keyboard with white figures

two-one-two its the hour now,
and my brain is slowing down,
sleep nudges at me;
making me nod.

but mildly frantic raving,
keeps me from drifting off
into space,
into sleep,
oh beautiful abyss.

and thus i struggle to explain
the feeling at my core.

two-two-one nine minutes gone by,
your name escapes my lips,
for a split second i see your face,

my heart pulsates
suddenly wide awake
two-two-two reads the digital clock.

image gone,
memory fading,
yearning remaining,

why?

why such feelings
vague joy
and overwhelming sadness,
like a glimmer of gold
in a pitch black sky,
a tiny pitch of light
rapidly being swallowed,
by complete and utter darkness.

two-three-zero
i feel so lonely tonight,
tomorrow i hope is a better day,
except
today is tomorrow.

the year is twelve,
the month is four,
the date is yesterpresent,
the time is two-three-four,
my fingers are clicking away.
to the white screen in front of me,
with darkness for surroundings,
and Spanish music softly playing
sweet tunes in my ears,
the feeling the mood
is forlorn,
why?
I've a treasure but no one to share with,
a crystal fragment of joy but no one around,
and a heart that yearns
to share all this with you.

now my words are done and gone,
i tidy i clean up,
weary, sad, forlorn,
most of all alone.

two-four-two
with noone to share i bid myself goodnight.

There is always someone to share with, yolilitzli, it is merely a matter of timing for the most part. I liked your poem.

two-three-zero
i feel so lonely tonight,
tomorrow i hope is a better day,
except
today is tomorrow.

I identified with every line and love your portrayal of forlorn! When loneliness sets up housekeeping, it leaves little room for hope.
