    leaps of faith
  (what a 'poet'
   must 'believe')

Despite all the sham,
cynicism, and broken
dreams of the past,
I must simply trust
that all cynics become
‘believers,’
when, by the magic
of happenstance
or accidental miracles,
they find someone or
something to ‘believe in.’
Such a man and a women
together in new love ...
become fully 'real'
  and limitless.

                      Romanticism, and
                      'taking chances')

I was that cynic, Bruce, but it happened to me. Better late than never as they say. This is a profound undertaking you have given us with this latest gem of a poem.

Despite all things, there must still be hope.  I know that I take the simplest, yet most profound, things for granted in light of the daily hum drum - but it is reminders like these that allow people the opportunity to readjust their priorities.

I think all poets are dreamers. We sense the magick. What would life be without hope.

I can't imagine not hoping or dreaming, even after being slapped in the face so hard, your cheeks switch sides.

Now, if we were to qualify hope --- it's an awfully wide gamute; from eternal life, to death, so everyone can have hope --- but what one is hoping for . . . well, another subject I guess...

Beautifully said. The magic waits all the time right around the corner of our doubts.

Wonderful write, Bruce.  I actually don't believe in "accidental" miracles but sometimes it does seem like that.  You've got me thinking about many things like what is real and what is not and what is limitless and what is not but ... round and round I go.
