no tears to spill
no smiles to make
no apathy, no empathy, no sympathy,
but something else entirely,
a fiery crystal amid cells,
heating higher higher,
erasing the agony of desire,
filling the fevered skull,
with blind rage engulfing all,
sight is tainted a scarlet red,
melting through perception,
giving way to frantic power,
painting, spilling blood,
on once white flowers,
innocence gone,
fairy tales done,
and finally the end of it all.

It's really funny (funny, as in inexplicable--not funny ha-ha) how the things we write provoke stuff we never dreamed of in others.

For example, your white flowers, and the mention of blood reminded me of the periwinkle--and how the white periwinkle that has red in the center is the one that was found to contain the active ingredient for digitalis--one of the cures for a "broken" heart. (see what I mean?)

Enjoyed this, and I thank you for sharing.

I take your words more realistic than did Karen, I'm afraid. I feel only blind rage here. Hoe it is temporary,
