Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Subtle as dust settles
creeping as spring greens
engulfing as air
sinking in despair
One last mote
settled upon
my overwhelm
and I could not wake
to face the day
My spring blooms
in shades of gray
No stranger
to these waters
I've drowned here
before...

. .  . and I have been feeling  so upbeat today, Lori, sorry to see that you are not . . . Still, one of your best poems I'm thinking.

Despair does seem to produce great poetry, Lori.
