Mists

It took a moment to see through the mist,
Forcing me then to open ev’ry door ~
As a shadow left on me one lone kiss;
It took a moment to see through the mist.
T’was then I knew, that poetry exists,
As one would find when tramping high, cold moors.
It took a moment to see through the mist,
Forcing me then to open ev’ry door.

~*~

Doors

Each door then opened upon a new view
Even rooms with windows that lead to stars
One, then another, vast vistas so true
Each door then opened upon a new view ~
And I, a writer, stand in awe, subdued,
Watching captains and kings, poets from afar
Each door then opened upon a new view,
Even rooms with windows that lead to stars.

~*~

Stars

To pluck a pure star, to give, then, to you,
Not cold, but bright, like a very small sun.
Spotting them through mists, counting them in dew
To pluck a pure star, to give just to you
To know you’ve a friend in skies of dark blue
There are so many, and I am but one
To pluck a pure star, to give just to you,
Not cold, but bright, like a very small sun.

~*~

Sun

In rondo of tune, sailing round our sun
I leave you the mists, great doors, and pure stars
For a poet’s writing is never done
In rondo of tune, sailing round our sun
That you might now know, we have just begun
For within poetry we hide our scars ~
In rondo of tune, sailing round our sun
I leave you the mists, great doors, and pure stars

I'm partial to "Mists," with its dark passages, including the Moors, which we all know is a threatening place. But a poets' zeal has conquered and tamed.

Actually, "Doors" would be my choice as the number one poem of the three. How can it not when each door opened with a new view, and views that lead to the stars? Magnificent.

Naw. Heck. It is "Sun" that kicks the others out of first place. Taking all the others to task, how can they compete with "Sun" when "For within poetry we hide our scars."

Amazing. We have three first place winners. Mind blogging.

Ms. K
I like them all, and how they connect to each other, but I like the "stars" triolet best.

This is a very fun form to play with, I have tried a few, but never connected several like this...very nice...:-)

This is absolutely magical, dear Karilea. You were in a state of grace when you wrote this.

No, may we never stop to soar with words.

Wonderful.

Had to look up Triolets. Knew I couldn't write them but wanted to know what "Them" was...

I agree with Jerry...Mists is my favorite but all are beautiful...
