I’m back from wherever I went
to be a pillar of strength
for the days of my life
but sometimes I do remember
I did it, I did it, I did.

So now I am into time and a half
for the reconstruction process
but the pay is below subsistence level
and the rewards number zero.

So when in the zone of the below
counting zeros from morning to night
perhaps it behoves us all
to relax into our memories.

What was done can be done again
and it’s not a question of strength
but simply to get to the place
of knowing and trusting the process.

It’s a process, you see, a long process
to build from the bottom up
and though pillars crumble again, again,
we still have the tools of construction!

WONDERFUL POEM,
Reminds me of someone who said,
"Never give up, never ever give up!"
Churchill, would have loved your poem too.

Thanks, Ms E!  I don't suppose we ever really give up - just perhaps change what we focus on.

Ab-so-lutely!!!!

You must have that attitude, or everything fails. Good for you.

YES

It's so difficult sometimes to use those tools, but they are always there.

Thanks Jerry and Nicole.  Now where did I put "them there" tools?

Yes! Reconstruction after the towers crumble, and relaxing into memories. Some can never be replaced like the great pyramids and athens but they can be admired as for they were once almost unimaginable structures, powerful monuments once newly constructed themselves. Wonderful poem!
