wind some and spilled some not
there within that lava of afternoon
with a bib on over bronze
oh how the terra cotta can swallow

we fed cream to the cherry children
sweet nectar from our thorns
and they were the laughter songs
that floated after on our residue

we made windows within our hands
and love without hour urgency
they were the voyeur eyed kind
that wanted to be older as winter

and we would bring them summer, after

There's beauty in each season, and I love how you take me through them all.

we made windows within our hands
and love without hour urgency

And that gives a warmth that lingers throughout all seasons. *S* Beautiful work!

Philosophers, and poets study the invisibles concealed within the visibles...this is a good example of that.
This poem, and your others show more than the solid surface value of  Terra Cotta,
And if you read closely, maybe cross your eyes a little, one can see there is much more to
it than a vessel of clay... and that that orange clay is a container that holds an explanation
of a short period in a someones life.

This is why I read you.

Ice amigo...you do have your eyes tuned to the right station most of the time..dreams suck in the moisture of reason and let it dissolve them into portions of reality that leave that grit in your teeth as you smile.

Thanks guy

I love the colors and the light that I perceive  in this sensual concert of "daark" words. A world that always calls for exploration.

DS...I can feel the terra cotta summer coming as the clouds rain the sky and the wind whips the too early flowers. It is almost time for the strawberries of Oxnard to drip the children's chins.

I think I've said this before,
but it bears repeating...

you would give my very favorite author
a run for his silvered money, honey,

so I curtsey to my favorite man
who writes McKuen keen....
