ME. In the Shadow of the Mt.

When dark cold gray
Of winter gives way
To the warmth of spring
The birds twitter and sing

Tulips and daffodils thrust
Thru the retreating snow crust
And the budding of trees
Brings forth the buzzing of bees

Thirsty rain of April showers
Brings the blooming of flowers
As spring demands
The greening of lands

Sun warmly kisses my face
As I joyously embrace
The coming of a spring day
When the lilacs bloom in May
When spring comes to Maine

Winter wasn't too bad this year, was it?
But I can hear the welcoming of summer in your words.

Enjoyed!

JL - No, this winter was not that bad at all but I'm still sick of it now!
Looking forward to spring and summer. Thanks for stopping by.

Very nice, Kat.

This is a very strange spring, actually a very strange past year, thinking about the weather.

Three days in a row over 65 in north, central Pennsylvania.

The lilac is a sure sign of spring......:-)

Hi ice! yes it's been a strange winter and spring all over the USA.
I can't wait for the lilacs ( my favorit flower) to bloom in May.

Warmest winter I can remember, but spring sure is welcome nonetheless. Nice work here.

Do you sometimes see flocks of migrating geese on their way up to there summer playground in the Arctic wilderness of the Canadian Arctic?
Because, you see, what with my being a goose and stuff, I care about all gooses everywhere!
