Very difficult to read, j., but I got the gist of the poem I think. Though old and nearing death the writer is saying no one could take his spouses place. Very nice.

Ah my friend Ida ... tickled you enjoyed reading this and that you liked the photo.  Interesting thing about this photo is it was taken with an old Minolta 16 camera (remember those, 120 film cartridge ) in New Orleans, on Mardi Gras day back in 1974, 1975.  I saw this lady sitting in the bright sunlight (temp. was in the 40s, in a chair with just the expression on her face you see and you could tell she was enjoying herself.  I snapped this shot as I walked by (it was another 30 years before I actually learned anything about photography) and was surprised at how well it came out. I've kept it all these years, and finally found a way to use it.

Here's a picture of the camera ... a remember when moment!! Mine was the one in the middle.

J, you are a pro, man!
The simplest of life is sometimes the purest
expression.  You took something so everyday
and simple and made a master piece, a
hand crafted poem and emotion, very fine art, my friend.  Very nice!!

Wow! JL! Wish I was all of that, but I know better.  Just knowing you liked it enough to say so, and that what I tried to say came though warms my soul.

Thank you very much for the kind words.

everytime the door of me opened, it was the love of you that stepped across the sill

This is so tender and touching... a perfect summary of the love so many of us reach for and know we'll never know. Beautiful work!

Jimmy,

This is fine.  I am going to take a break and just gaze upon that face.  Beautifully done, my friend.  Simpy beautiful.
