On My Lanai / Dream Lover

You and I
sitting on my lanai,
our chairs
face to face,
sipping cognac
no, red wine
no, sipping green tea.
I have waited to
look into your eyes
when I tell you
how much I enjoy you.
I give you my best smile
you give the same to me,
I tell you how
beautiful your smile is
taking in your femininity;
your hair, long, black
and silky falls down
in bangs on your forehead,
and flows all the way
down your back to the waist.
I tell you for the
umpteenth time
how much I enjoy
looking at you
and talking to you.
I want to touch you
but I promised you
that upon this evening
we would only engage
in conversation.
Your voice is like angels singing
your words melt me and I hope
you will say the words
I want to hear coming
from your mouth as they
pass through your moist lips.
I can only hope you care for
me as much as I care for you.
Come closer so I can whisper
my feelings and my desires
into the softness of your ears.
Now I inquire of her,
"Can I be your dream lover.?"
She smiles her most beautiful smile
and I take it as a yes.

Smiles win the day.
