Milk gone sour

I know you know, she said
A casual glance, 'tween milk and bread
What do you know, he said
Whilst poluring milk, with rising dread
You know I know, she said
Another glance, a nod of head
I know you know, he said
The rising sun, on golden shred
What did she know, he thought
Whilst pouring milk, have I been caught
How could he know, she thought
He doesn't know, I'm not that sort
He doesn't know, she thinks
She eats her toast, and pours the drinks
She doesn't know, he thinks
She smiles at him, he slowly winks

What a glorious mélange of complex intrigue and humour and clever composition!  No wonder the milk went sour when it simply tried to contemplate it!
