Into every life a little rain must fall. At least that's what "they" say.

clouds turned black as night
roiling into my very essence
racing unrelenting o'er my backdrop
heartbreak-minded

calmly I withstood the assault
knowing sorrow waited in the shadows
of my concentrate
wondering how would I ever survive

even as the storm intensified
a beam of sunlight thread
sought me out with a familiar
and added a hopeful

I stand and watch; questioning
the dark clouds and sunshine coexist
one showering me pessimistically
one generous with its optimist nature

We wouldn't know the beauty of the sun without a bit of rain. That being said though, if I ever get my hands on "them", whoever they are lol, well... then it'll be a time for a little come to Jesus, I reckon.
