In New Zealand Amongst the Ancient Trees

wanted
in wanting
much too late
to escape
with a gipsy lady
who is falling
through the ruins of love
forever on the road
with no fixed abode
then there are children
of children
eyes leaking love
arms aloft seeking hugs
mouths pleading questions
and ears waiting
for the answers
of an old man
rooted in a forest of emotion
no longer able to run
from the top
of the final slide into darkness
still he hears
somewhere music is playing
half remembered songs
making him close his eyes
an old mans exit
into secret places
where psychic gypsies
might be part of the scene
of another time and place
that might have been
where love is only a way
of running from the death
that he lives for

as always your words touched me...glad I popped in this morning ( I think we sometimes have the same thoughts only I am not able to put them into words at this time!)
