I must stand away from the flame
fingertips on skin
electricity and wind
all of us unwilling to begin

I must avoid the flame
the flowering of pain
rising embers and falling whispers
long dead thoughts
delusion repression

myself unborn powerless
a dancing faith
to quell the flame
