when the skies look the darkest
when lightning strikes
around you
numbing your sensibilities
and rain comes down in torrents
blown sideways by the mighty wind
trying to completely destroy
and submerge you
when all looks lost
when the tumult is at its very worse

the sun breaks through
putting a smile back on your face

I love this poem's hopeful ending. Sometimes when times are dark in our lives it is so hard to see anything positive come out of it but ever so often the sun truly breaks through and we are filled with hope. I will have to keep this in mind when I am next sad!!
