.

It was summer
There were flowers

The sun was warm
The sky blue
With golden peaches
On orchard branches
Red cherries
On vanilla ice cream

Her slender figure
Moved in shadows

Her voice sang songs
Without need for words
Her eyes were stars
To guide my way

Know
White knight
I was once
As brave as you

And just as good
In my tiger days

It was summer.
The smell of mown grass.
The yellow of dandelions.
And a knight
who thought I was a lady.

Nan (Pilgrim variety)
