She creeps in and lingers there just behind
consciousness, and cognition;
distracting,
disrupting,
destroying,
eating away. My hands are shaking.

My mind is racing
twirling
spinning
dizzying
thoughts collide.

Push her OUT!
-but she will not go.

Manipulative to the end,
She brings me to the edge
grabs the collar of my shirt and leans me over….

the ground rushes up
the room is shrinking
the walls are bleeding
my heart is pounding
pounding

LOUDER!!!! Then she retreats,
slipping back behind reality.

Cunningly she bides her time
breaking me slowly.

This sounds to me like fear grabbing our minds and your poetic rendering is very powerful.

But our inner strength is at hand to paint the "bleeding walls" in candid white again. Not an easy task, but it's worth trying.

It was an attempt to write out an anxiety/panic attack.

You perfectly succeeded in your intent, such attacks are indeed frightening from what I have heard.

I really liked the way you chose to express the feelings one is overcome with in a panic attack.  Kudos2u for an excellent write!
