Snow in Rome (my picture)

* * *
Transfixed I watch the snowflakes fall
in quiet procession from sky to earth
like candid petals of Christ roses
scattered at random by rollicking angels.

Millions of ice crystals have gathered
to perform their show as skydivers.
My eyes record the choreography
hypnotizing rhythms flood my brain.

I don’t blink lest I miss a single moment
of this white choir that sings Your name.
Peace notes permeate my whole being
while I focus on this flow of purity.

Upon my lips the snowflakes melt
I taste life and marvel at its harmony.
Reaching deep into the white blessing
my soul unites with yours magically

as we sail as one across the trail of eternity.

Margherita, this poem is like watching a beautiful ballet.  I miss the snow, so much, and this brought it right to me.  I love the image of rollicking angels. Precious!

Ah, yes indeed, I savored each and every line of this beauty, Margherita. The picture was fantastic, and so in tune with your lovely stanzas. Either one, the picture or the poem, can stand alone.

At a cocktail party, one woman said to another,
'Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?'
'Yes, I am. I married the wrong man.'

Wow, look at that!! Beautiful my friend, in its entirety!  I've not been in "much" snow, always lived in the southern part of the country, but what I have experienced, 'I miss the snow' too (Nicole)!!

Yours words were perfect for the photo...

Love it when a she falcon spreads her wings,
Rising above a happening--
Her snowflake words discribing the inordinary
Captured in a gold gilded picture;

And you just know she can hear
The falconer..as its surreal voice, she repeats
In dark tracks, on light blue paper.

I don't know much about ballet, but
I must agree with all the above.
This is a beauty!!

This poem has made me remember how exciting it was to wake up to snow when I was a child.

Dear Nicole, I so love your comparison to a ballet! Snow is a fantastic dancer indeed! Thank you so much.

While I am writing the air's fragrance carries snow, I can smell it ...

I am touched, dear Jerry, by the beauty and kindness of your loving comment. Thank you so much. Also for loving the picture, taken from our balcony. (trembling from cold while standing out there! )

Thank you, dear Jimmy, for enjoying the snow-scenery together with me. It is an experience, I think, that everyone should be gifted with at least once in a lifetime.

And you just know she can hear
The falconer..
How lovely is your comment, dear Ford, thank you so much. Enjoyed it much.

Thank you, dear JL, for seeing the beauty in this snow-marked scenery. I am an incurable "snow-girl" forever ... within my heart!

Yes, dear Ida, the memories of childhood keep us able to be enchanted again as grown ups, even if we don't make snow-angels anymore (though I would like to! Thank you so much for your loving reply.

Dear Alison, the hush of snow is one of the most beautiful silence-moments to experience.  You know that and I keep the memory of it! Thank you for loving my rendering of it.

Dear Ebonygirl, isn't it just nice that you as a Californian girl can enjoy this winter event and feel its charm! Thank you so much.

Love and joy.
Margherita

Lovely harmonies are attained in both the picture and poetry, Margherita!  It always amazes me how something so silent can hold so much symphony and spirit.  It brings forth a gratitude also for warmth and shelter, and I think that when I see it sleeve the trees like white ermine.  Thank you for sharing the pure beauty of it's peace with me this morning.     Karen

Thank you, dear Karen, for your delightfully poetic comment. It's such a joy to read you on the blue pages.

While I am writing it is snowing very heavily once again. I can't take my eyes off this spectacle. The child in me awakens and wants to go out and play wild ... who wants to engage in a snowball fight?

Thank you, dear Ruth, for telling me you enjoyed this. Seems this happened long ago, as today I sat on the balcony in the sun and almost felt it was too hot! I am glad I fixed the magical moment of snow in picture and words, to remember!

Dear Luminosity, thank you so much for your loving comment.

Thank you, dear Bruce, I enjoyed your comment.

Love,
Margherita

Snow can be described in many ways and the way you have described in your poem is simply beautiful. It was an enjoyable read and now, I feel like setting up the Christmas tree.

We have snow practically every year in England and this winter it was fairly heavy and the children loved it.

Thank you so much, dear Ruth, for coming back for a touch of wintery air. I just communicated this morning with my Tuya down in the street, whose top broke off because of the heavy snow, but it didn't detach and now it hangs there changing its original green color into yellow-brown, becoming thus more visible. It makes me sad to see this, but I trust the Tuya will grow a new top somehow ...

Dear James, thank you, both spectacles can be very romantic, if watched with the heart, no doubt... (and better yet with "a twin-heart"!

Hello, Ron, nice to meet you on this thread. Thank you for your loving comment. I bet it is always fun for the children, not only for the little ones, but also for the grown-up children (like me .

Welcome back, dear Eric, you have been away for far too long. Hope to read soon some of your excellent poetic offerings. Thank you for stopping by here and for commenting so kindly.

Love and have a great day all.

Thank you so much, dear Yann, for your most loving comment.

And thank you again, dear James, for being here and for telling me you like this. I am glad I wrote a poem about this event, so the emotions can be relived even at distance.

Love,
Margherita
