.

Now unloved
You’ve moved
To the end
Of an unlit aisle

A darkened corridor
I do not go into willingly
Having always other
And better things to do

Sometimes for weeks
I forget your name

It drifts in the air
Asking for you
To which I answer
Who?

To that man I was
The heart he had
Still there’s something
Faintly sad

When I watch him
Disappear

.

You define the "faintly sad" very powerfully.

Indeed, sad but very powerful words.
