The Pain of Love

"If I don't call you
will we be through?"

I cried the night away
thinking about how much
I missed you today.

Not really.

Don't be silly.

Yes really.

"If I no longer think of you
does that mean we're through?"

There come a time when
the mind has to overcome
the thoughts of the heart,
otherwise the heart will
suffer needlessly from
the pain of love.

Yes. Absolutely, James.

At a cocktail party, one woman said to another,
'Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?'
'Yes, I am. I married the wrong man.'

"There come a time when
the mind has to overcome
the thoughts of the heart,"

Very well expressed.
Enjoyed, James.

So true, dear James! Sadly it's not so easy like closing a tap.

Very wise in its melancholy.

"....There come a time when
the mind has to overcome
the thoughts of the heart,..."

If more people understood this, as you do, there would be a lot less "heartache" floating around...

But that would mean people would truly have to
"care" about others, not just voice the word.

excellent piece, my friend.
