Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2012-02-06 02:55 AM

One more night
Moving into formation to march
Behind the endless nights before it
Another night laced with pain pills
That don't kill the pain of this
God-awful tooth ache

An ache that comes out at night
To mock my need for rest
As it cracks wistful lullabies
And brings me here
To whine to you

One hand clutching Pilot bread
And peanut butter
The other clutching a shot of tequila
As I grimace and wait for the day
Of my dental appointment

Alison

PS - not to worry.  I am not mixing drugs and alcohol.  I swish
the tequila over the tooth and spit it out.  A root canal that has
come back to haunt me ... Since mid JanuAry or so.  Not much for dental specialists here.  And this should be over.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this, dear Alison. Toothache is one of the worst things one can experience. Your vivid rendering of this pain  brings back memories...
Hope you will find total relief quickly!

Love and hugs.

Ouch!  Bad pain for sure!
I hope this article will help you.
I've used the ground cloves before, taste bad
but does the job, temporally.
Bless you.

Cloves have a number of uses in dentistry, the most common being as an analgesic to combat pain from toothache and from minor dental procedures. Combined with zinc oxide, it forms a compound used as a temporary filling, killing pain and providing an antiseptic effect until a cavity can be fully repaired with a filling. Modern testing indicates that oil of clove may be suitable for use in place of benzocaine as local anesthetic before injections. Professional dentists still suggest the use of clove oil as a temporary pain killer for toothache, minor irritations and gum injuries, and for such problems as pain and swelling from incoming wisdom teeth.

Guess I missed this first time around ... OUCH!
Twice in my life I was told I needed a root canal - Twice I told them to pull the blankety-blank thing and never had another problem with that tooth.

Don't envy you, my friend.  Hope you've gotten it fixed by now.

Thank you, Margherita, Dark One, tracie, JL and jimmy,

It's been hell for about 6 weeks now - lots of pain pills, antibiotics and $$$$.  Gotta love being in pain and watching the money fly from my finger tips.  It's all good - should get it all fixed on Friday.  Yay for Friday!!!

Thank you for caring.

A

PS - JL, I did try cloves ... along with shots of tequila.  Neither worked.

Friday has arrived here ... so I send good vibes your way for the treatment. May it resolve the problem and may you quickly be able to forget the pain! (Toothache is one of those things that make us perceive life as a torture no doubt.)

May the Angels collaborate with the dentist!

Love and hugs.

Hey Sweetheart!  I am full sympathy for you.  My daughter broke a tooth off at the gum line last week and my husband did also about three days ago.  Both of them had to get antibiotics and pain pills. My daughter must get hers out tomorrow, and my husbands's will be extracted on Valentine's day.  Misery!   Prayers for you all, that it does come to an end quickly.  Hugs
