       The Hush of Twilight

Beyond the hush of twilight
scraps of withered leaves
dance the voiceless winds
among these ancient rocks
  and trees,
the weathered art of Nature’s
  quiet chaos,
beneath a fine silver lantern moon
that hangs in the star-swept tapestry
of Winter thoughts and memories
that is this deep-forest dream
with meaning far beyond the reach
of all we do or could imagine.

Nice gentle wordplay within these lines, Bruce.

At a cocktail party, one woman said to another,
'Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?'
'Yes, I am. I married the wrong man.'

I see it and I hear the silence broken by the skittering sound of withered leaves. Beautiful, my friend.

That is the deep forest dream, Bruce and you are so right, it is far more than we can ever imagine.

Beautiful. It is what I see when I look out my window but your words make it come alive!

It's not really what is outside my window, but I do see or try to see it everytime my eyes look that way...

Enjoyed the read, my friend.
