Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2012-02-04 11:27 AM

Feeling quite full of myself
and my newly acquired smokelessness
I thought I would celebrate

So before our weekly card game
I slammed a few
in honor of my success
(I'm not a drinker I must confess)

For a short while I felt great
Then realized my mistake
Too much too quick
will make you sick
and rob you of your coordination

I must have been a sight
reeling for the door
to get some fresh air
and not hurl on the floor

Needless to say
I couldn't stay
Cards started at seven
and I was tucked in by eight
I showed my brass
last night alright.

This embarrassing confession
has taught me a lesson
about inebriation
and celebration
I'm better off contented
with my quiet sense
of elation

This is funny, but I know it wasn't for you as it was happening. You've got grit to be able to write this humorous poem about it.

I am smiling.  Conratulations on the smokeless days ... and, okay, I laughed at the inebreation.  Too funny.

Love it.
