never have I wished more fervently
for the ability to heal
the lame
purify the unholy
cause the legless to sprout legs and walk

I could go on and on . . . I think I shall . . .

of all the suffering on earth
the one that causes more pain and anguish
is the torment we mortals put ourselves through
our dark corners
reach out and bite us hard
from time to time
oh, I understand this so very well
been there . . . you know . . .
done that
it's the world's worst affliction
has ruined so many lives
brought down the afflicted one
and the ones he leaves
with no mercy

so . .

never have I wished more fervently
for the ability to heal

You know what the kicker is; is that sometimes people cling to the dark corners, because even though they hurt...they're constant, and its a security.  Letting go of those things is scary and new, even if it's for the best.  It would be wonderful to be able to hear, or say, "come on out, it's okay".

You have a valid point, Nicole. I know I hid in my dark for decades.

Thank you for being in my spot of blue.

That they do! And I love your wish... I wish it, too.

Your empathy is most powerfully expressed here, dear Jerry. May the awareness grow that we can choose to heal ... or to accept what is with the right amount of serenity that allows us to be helped to leave darkness behind.

Poignant and significant contribution.

Thank you so very much for your inspiring comments, Margherita. Yes, it is an individual choice we must make which affects all those who are close to us.

That would be a wonderful ability to have.  Humanity is such a precarious thing - in every way truly its own worst enemy.  The hurts we cause ourselves and other close to us, (those we love), are so much more intimate  and personal than anything a stranger could ever do to us... and therefore so much harder to forgive as well.  This world is starved for healing, indeed.  I "feel" this one, JP.

When you're right you're right Michael. They say to look to Him for healing, but I think He drops the ball more often than not.

A heart filled with love
can heal.  You have the ability.
