.

No candy or flowers
Cards on the holidays
No calls on the phone
Waiting at home

There are no songs
Especially for her
No one alone
Is writing a poem

Down a street
Or office corridor
She passes by
And no one sighs

This woman who knows
She’s no longer beautiful—
Never smiles

Self-condemnation maybe?

You noticed and introduced her to us, with this poignant poem.

Thank you.

If you have to beautiful to smile, I guess age will wipe away all smiles eventually.
