.

It is night
That special place

In a thought light
Of moon and stars
Upon an inner strand
The spectral forms
Of what could have been

Two slender figures
Not yet stooped by time
Coupled together
Hand in hand

Only here
Are they ever one
Despite all years
And final renderings

Allow these hearts
Their dreams
That have not gone
Along with youth
Into oblivion

What harm is done
By such fantasies
Consoling loss
Missed opportunity

These mists that drift
Like mutual reveries

From a stolid
Lapping sea

.

To continue to dream can well mean salvation ...

I like this much.
