Wasted Time

There is that voice
that tells us
though at the time
we do not wish to hear
We are too inclined
by the distraction
given us in pursuit
to heed it
We allow ourselves
to believe we really
need it
We give it our minutes
that spawn hours
days and years
For what...
escape from
loneliness, guilt
boredom or fears
No matter the reason
the little voice
is still there
it never goes away
Telling us we're
wasting our time
trying to avoid
a plethora
of tears

Yup, you nailed this one. I've heard that voice so many times and never once have I listened to it... And never once has it been wrong either. YouKd think a person would learn eventually.

I apologize for the group reply here my friends....Just wanted to let you know how much you are apreciated. I wrote this after I quite smoking and realized how much time I spent just having a cigarette. Thanks for hanging in with me.
