flavor of a lingering kiss
her breath slightly sour'd
a probing tongue
her eyes furtively shifting
here and yon
informing me she'd blend into the shadows
and not cause trouble
I held onto her like she was the last thread
on the forgiving cord
of a life sour'd
free falling
struggling for breath
eyes gazing into the dark,
wondering where life leads next
anticipation.
leery to learn where
all the pieces fit.
I've shared much with her
things not voiced to another
it's that kind of a love

Everything is okay here. Sometimes sad poems just pop up.

Let it out!  Man, you are really writing some
great poetry, Jerry.

Love this line:
"I've shared much with her
things not voiced to another
it's that kind of a love"

This is excellent!!
Enjoyed...

JL beat me to the words, my friend...those are a piece all in themselves...

Enjoyed the 'saddness' in you...

I like bold statements like the one you just gave for the contents of this poem. Thank you, tracie66.
