I remember when you went with her
to get those scenario tattoos, matching
then you brought me suggestions after
in that bucket that you said was funny
but big enough for what you imagined

you were always lovely with my eyes closed
and then you got pretty all over you
when you fell into my eyes wide open
and didn't hurry out too quickly
since they were warm place playgrounds

and you would wear that little black dress
when we had company, if I wanted you to
but you wouldn't be responsible for dinner
or the dishes, or picking up nickels
since anything beneath you was dangerous

and you only wanted me there most of the time
