              Tao of the Storm

Tree silhouettes shadow-dance
in the uncertain moonlight
among rosettes of withered leaves
  all around
where this forest night hangs on the
precipitous edge of a deep-winter storm.
A chill northeast wind with its marching
cloud legions bears the first snowflake
harbingers of the riotous-white,
unforgiving change to come.
Let the blizzard blow its best
among these ancient hills
for nothing of Nature's furious truth
could oppress the enlightened
  mind and heart.

Bruce, as always, your poem is beautiful.  I read it several times to imbibe the scene so exquisitely and meticulously painted into reality (your bond with Nature is delicious), but also because of the nearly new breath of hope and positivity shining through which I really like and which makes me really happy for you.

Let the storm rage outside, as it is no match for the quiet strength inside.  I love the imagery in this, as always.

Beautiful thoughts and wonderfully penned, secondhanddreampoet. Absolutely you takes more than nature's wrath to alter minds and hearts enlightened as one . . .

Wonderful write, Bruce.

Love that and let us remember it when ...

This poem has such an elegant strength and beauty that it renders any storm powerless.

'Tao' is simply 'path' ... and such a magnificent storm is a 'Zen' experience ...

I agree that magnificent storms are zen...I love storms with all their power and beauty...I used to sit on the cliffs of Cape Breton and watch the storms come in off the ocean...nor'easters would find me sitting before a fire listening to the wind howl...I love the vision of this poem...*BIG HUGS*

The energy of Nature and the energy of the spirit meet here and wrap us into powerful primal emotions.

Wonderfully rendered, dear Bruce.
