mother with eyes of stone glancing
I know your gaze at dawn
when you give me illusions
and the sounds of your voice
are warm water on black brick earth

the ichabod trees are but reeds
not reading but just staring
as if the printed pages of your sky
need more photos to be worthy
of being worn in the thoughtful pales

you dangle your pods of promise
like umbrellas pending another rain
but I know they will not be open
when I am man enough to need them
and I, like their shadows will shiver

while waiting for your invisible evenings

This is special, it's a heart warming message, a beautiful picture,
to say nothing of the poet....'cause that goes without saying!!

I hope you'll always know~

big old hugs, D~

Mother passes from day to evening and awaits not the ichabod tree. When in need many things can be likened to the ichabod tree, merely there, for show, not for comfort or safety.

To mimic is a form of praise unless
you have no thoughts of your own

Metaphor galore.

Love that second verse, I got lost in that one..."as if the printed pages of your sky
need more photos to be worthy
of being worn in the thoughtful pales"

Even if what I think it might mean doesn't line up with what you mean, I still find meaning....smile....

Wow, wow, wow.  I love looking through the glasses that you see.  The photograph is incredible and your poetry does it justice.

Happy New Year, dear D.

This took my breath away.

Will you please take the New Year's purpose and seriously consider to publish your work?

Love,
Margherita

ms mar...thanks lady friend.....I doubt that I will publish anything...my pleasure comes from writing the images, and just leaving them lying around.
