Listening to every heart

Don this Cusp

Beneath this waning moon, I shall
stand naked in its pale stark flash,
waving off past’s dark, to meet, yea,
some coming light, a moment before one last tick
reaches into this next year’s tock,
to clock all and receive tall, then
enter sweet new year’s embrace…

I shall don this cusp, with all its trappings,
brief though fey magic may be, that
come the dawn, pronouncements
of good import shall be known to me, and thee;

that these gifted, bare journals
shall consume all curves and carvings of ink;

I shall renew this register, to receive
my cache of beloveds;

then with doggedness, resolve me I
to take bolder steps,
and even more…

visit again my indigenous shores…scatter feed
and seed for birds to come,
that a feather may be shared with love,

pay heed more intently to voices
forever gone;

then hone my own           strong,         inner song…
and take your hand in mine;

Come soon, dawn, for I shall
have slipped off the dress of cusp
from yesterday’s lesson,
and hold with trust

that this New Year shall forever be,
a time to strive toward poetry.

Happy New Year, my Friends, and Poets, with a huge Thank You, to Ron.

After the donning the cusp, it is only after everything else has come about that you slip the cusp off and call it a wonderful day toward the morning of the first day of the year of excellence.

Lovely writing, sunshine.

To mimic is a form of praise unless
you have no thoughts of your own

Hi Sissie..."visit again my indigenous shores "does that mean you're coming to California?  I'd like to don the cusp with you!!!  You're lovely, you know.
