Comfortable in the sage sweater we wove
a tapestry of green among the whispering hills
a vintage passion all our own.

Given time and our existence
separating the distance between us
we quietly tiptoed
from the comforts of our chateau
pouring sand through an hour class
lost in the moment
waiting for no one.

Crossing  the drawbridge
without a care to the water rising
an impressionist love affair
laid bare in the evocative sunlight.

Your lips like sable in a perfect storm
all encompassing in the afterglow.
Like violet jewels
I wear you with the same passion
daring charm
and endless love
holding you close.

Gentle as the breeze
blowing in the winter wind.

Oh my gumbo. If I am anything poetically it's a sometimes lucky amateur who blusters out occasional good lines. I have comprehension issues, which I do not often confess. But for some strange reason in a moment of clarity I actually understood each word in this piece and they weaved together so well for me and it was like a spell being chanted. The sing-song sanity with which this was penned simply amazes me, and I feel profoundly grateful, and truly awed. I know I am in the company of many great and incredible poets when I can come in here, but you have provided sound proof to my mental miasma that I'm not just being polite. Thank you for sharing!

Absolutely fantastic presentation, Blues. There is so much here, all of it in fact, that I relate to and hearken back to hot sultry days in southern Arkansas and my very first love and our escape from the world in the midst of a stand of pine trees, a blanket and us. Those precious days have never left me, and I have a feeling they will be the last viable thoughts I will have. Your beautiful poem, although there were hints of storms on the horizon, sent me back there tonight. Thank you.

To mimic is a form of praise unless
you have no thoughts of your own

I'm liking this...and I haven't felt
a gentle breeze in the wintertime for
some years...not since I last visited
Houston...

but I can relate!

Beautiful! Bluesy, how do you do it.  A `sweater of sage-green grasses, woven by the wind`...?  (paraphrased)...that is divine! Very inspired, I am impressed, and I so enjoyed this whole poem.

I love how you weave the lines and tapestry of love throughout the poem, and there is no fire quite like the fire of amethyst...the crocuses bursting snow in winter, and the winter wind definitely looses its sting.  Who could not used this kind of spring in the days of a cold December?  Gorgeousness!

I have to tell you that you write a beautifully expressed poem of romance and love but you also have this sensuous delivery that tops it off with passionate dressing!!

That's my story and it's the truth!
I'm sticking to it.
