Love is a lady.
Love is a baby.

Love is a gentleman.
Love is a highwayman.

Love is a mangy cur.
Love is a pedigree cats purr.

Love is a society dame.
Love is a trailer-trash Jane.

Love is a Pope's staff he uses to beckon.
Love is Tennessee snake handlers I reckon.

Love is being nice when no one knows.
Love is making someone's face glow.

Love is a tow-headed little suburban boy.
Love is a nappy-headed little urban boy.

Love is a fresh coat of paint.
Love is your personal patron saint.

Love is a rain shower for plants to drink.
Love is its flowers blooming so pink.

Love is chicken soup when you feel ill.
Love is an arched brow giving you a chill.

Love is a tongue in your ear.
Love is a soft spoken, "Dear."

Love is a caressing, wrinkled hand.
Love is a brand new wedding band.

Love is sipping soda through a straw.
Love is forgiving others flaws.

Love is calloused hands awkwardly holding child.
Love is a happy smile.

Love is shedding silent tears of happiness
Love is being swept up in devotions abyss.

Love is a beautiful sunrise.
Love is seeing the same beauty in your lovers eyes.

Love is America with all its diversity.
Love is individual power because we are free.

Well now, you certainly covered most aspects of love but the last part is the greatest!

I found it interesting to meditate on each facet and see how it fits.
Well done my friend! I enjoyed the read!

Thanks Eric. Have to agree that the last two lines are the most important, although it seems we have developed cracks in the freedom part of it. We are definitely on the slippery slope of freedom's downfall. Nero is fiddlin', but this time he has the whole orchestra backing him up it seems.

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile... :D

"Love is seeing the same beauty in your lovers eyes".

I enjoyed the whole of your write but this sentence means a litte more to me. I still see it in his eyes in many photos of him I have. One is right on  my computer desk and sees me deep within. Those eyes. A little twinkle I can not explain but can still see and feel.  jo

That is a wonderful feeling, Jo , to be able to "see" and even "feel" our lovers who are away. It gives you a presence inside that is near impossible to explain. Thank you for stopping by and reading and commenting on my poem.
