Dear Santa,
If you're coming here,
may I suggest you wear rain gear.
A nice red slicker over you suit.
an umbrella and some sturdy hip boots.
I hope Rudolf's nose can light the way
through weeping skies of charcoal gray.
'Cause it's raining in sunny California,
you know,
I'm not talking fluffy, white snow.
I'm talking about serious rain
both day and night.
Day after day...no end in sight.
So heed what I say. Now don't forget.
Come prepared or you're gonna get wet.

Yup. Awful monsoon you are going through over there on the left coast. Stay dry. What a joke. How could you, it is seeping into your pores even as you sit in your living room. Santa will do what he has to. Nice of you to warn him though.

Hello Ida, I heard about that two days ago and was worried for you and your family, the poem sums up a situation that is so unusual for california...Thanks for sharing this original and rainy piece .

Hi yann, I can't believe how hard it has been raining but besides a few annoyances, like the rain put out the pilot light on my water heater so I climbed into the coldest shower ever, otherwise we're all okay. Some people who live in the hills and burn areas aren't so lucky.

I know what you mean, Ida.  The sun broke the cloud cover here to give us a gilded dawn and a rainbow this Christmas morning.  It was a stunner!  For a few minutes, I reveled in it, and then it was back to silver misty gray and the rain which so often seems incessant. It's why we are the Oregon Ducks.  But Santa came, not only prepared for himself, but for one of my granddaughters, too.  She got a raincoat for her winter term at college.   ~K

No, no. Please don't send any blizzard. I just found out that I'm a California sissy.
Ha ha.

Dear Ida, the rain may be annoying sometimes, but your poem is so well done, that I can only think of "dancing in the rain". ... With Santa in rainboots, haha

Maybe Californians take the sun for granted, so there comes a time to reflect upon this precious gift ....

Love,

The upside is we're not stranded in an airport, or digging our way out.

Pretty day today, huh!

Very nice day today, Took my granddaughters out to lunch before Crystal has to go back to North Carolina. It's supposed to start raining again Wednesday. I hope it's just normal rain this time.
