The new landfill stinks.
Rents by the river are down.
Not much Holly left.

Railroad tower bleak,
roiled by vagrant shrubberies---
rusted gantry's keep.

___

Foghorns, not corpses.
From here the once-pebbled creek
becomes a river.

Sad message of so called progress.

Some things good, some not so good but then here we are 2010 and still haven't dealt with the urgency of the times.
